Hey !! My name is Jessica Champeau, and I am from Denver Colorado.  I am 20 and recently graduated with a two year associates of the arts degree at the Community College of Aurora in December. I took the spring semester off to work full time at Chick –Fil- A to save money to continue with school in the fall; as well as take a break, and really take time to grow, heal, and spend time with God. It has been a crazy past few months, but it has been amazing!!

I love my family, I have two little sisters, Jenell is 16 and Mikaela is 14, and currently live with my parents; but hopefully, will be able to move out in the next year if God provides the finances to do soJ I love animals, and currently have a dog named Flash and sugar glider named Tzipiya... for all who do not know.. It is a flying squirrel from Australia.

My biggest passion is missions!! I love to travel and this will be my 8thtrip and 7thmission trip! My first trip out of country was when I was 11, it was a miracle I even got into the trip but long story short I left for two weeks with 40 other kids to Australia and New Zealand. Although it wasn’t a mission trip, it sparked my love for travel and the next year I went on my first mission trip to Memphis. The years after that I headed to New Orleans, Mexico twice, San Antonio, Newark NJ, and Africa. My most recent trip was to Mozambique last summer with a group connected with YWAM and it was AMAZING!! I spent a month there, and as soon as I got home wanted to turn right back around and go back. I thought I would end up going back in the next few years but, through a lot of fasting and prayer God has lead me back and I am so excited to see what God does on this trip!! My heart really hurts for the injustices of the world. I enjoy learning about discipleship, leadership, and teaching. God has really lain on my heart to help the victims of human trafficking. Not sure completely in what way yet. I think I will end up majoring in Psychology and one day get to council those who are victims of it.

A couple things about me… I am known to be very spontaneous at times… hence jumping on this trip two months before departure… haha, quite the leap of faith.  Relationships mean everything to me; whether with God, family, or friends. I can be an introvert at times, but the majority of my free time I am either at a church group, hosting a game night or bonfire at my house or out somewhere else with friends.  I crave adventure. I live about an hour from the Rockies, and love to hike, camp, rock climb, ultimate frisbee, swimming, and do pretty much anything else outdoors. However, although I have lived in Colorado for the past 11 or so years I have only been skiing once. Haha, yeah, make fun of me all you want, but all I can say is at least I can claim that I am not a native of ColoradoJIt is not that I didn’t enjoy it, it is just that it is super expensive… haha, anyways, I love to laugh but I also love deep down to earth conversations. I enjoy knowing what’s really going on with people; as well as hearing what’s going on in people’s hearts and what God has been doing in their life. I love to learn; especially about other cultures, religions, history, theology, and philosophy… I seek to understand things around me, and don’t mind trying new things. I like to be challenged and out of my comfort zone. I tend to learn a lot that way which makes it really exciting. Sports are fun, I am not very good at them, although I try really hard, I have never been good at sports on land haha… however love to swim! I love music, I haven’t played an instrument well in the past few years but I love listening to it. I am an artist. I love drawing, painting, sculpture, charcoal… I hope to one day use it to show people not only the beauty of the world but the injustices in it as well. One day I hope somehow God uses my art to heal and help others.

This trip has been one step of faith over the other.  I am so excited to see where God leads this trip; the past few months leading up to deciding whether I was going to go or not have been very eventful. There has been a lot of spiritual warfare, but also a lot of learning through all of this. The verse “Trust in the Lord and lean not on your own understanding” has been my encouragement the past few weeks. I am so excited to see what God is going to do, and lives be changed.  I know this trip is going to be an amazing one.  I am very excited to meet all of you, and know it is going to be an awesome adventure!
