Hey guys, my name is Anna Petelinsek. I am 20 years old and a junior at UW-Madison, Go Badgers! (And Packers :) I am studying Biochemistry with a certificate in Global Health. I currently work as a undergrad assistant in Neurodegenerative Disorder Lab. We are working on ALS (similar to MS) and I love working there! Now since I am science oriented, I'm terrible at writing so here I go:

I love to play soccer and ultimate frisbee. I love being outside, either sunny and green grass or cold snowy and snowboarding! I would rather be hanging out with people at any moment than be by myself (which back fires when I'm studying!) I listen to- Shawn McDonald, Bon Iver (shout out to those who went to his concert as well!), Adele, Tenth Avenue North, Coldplay, Regina Spektor, Avicii, Lecrae, and what ever else I'm addicted to that week. I love to run, I've done tons of races but studying usually conflicts with my hobbies. I also love to paint. If I wasn't majoring in something nerdy, I would major in art. But I didn't think that would take me anywhere anyways. Eventually I want to work in the HealthCare field, not sure what I will do yet. On campus, I'm a leader in a ministry called the Navigators. I spend most of my time with these people! I also love singing but I can't sing a single note on pitch. Yet I don't know that I can't sing on pitch until everyone goes "Shhh!".... Bahaha and I love to laugh!

Experince: Hmm I went on a Mission Trip in High School my senior year to Italy. We worked there for two weeks involved on the campus in Torino. We taught English using the Bible to Italians. It was an incredible experience to work in a culture that's very Saltanic. Of course it was gorgeous there, but I also grew up a lot on that trip, experiencing a part of the world for myself, away from my parents and things I felt were safe.

I've also done Habitat for Humanities Trips in the U.S.. I've gone on many camping adventures and wilderness retreats for kids. I also worked as a camp counselor for five years up in Northern Minnesota during the summers at Living Word Bible Camp. Some of the best years of my life.

I am excited for every single moment of this trip. Everything I will see, feel, hear, live, do, learn, teach, give, love, play; just the entire experience. I'm so excited to see how God will use us this summer. I think it's so incredible how he can use us, those who are from the middle of no-where and send us out to places where they haven't even heard of the gospel and have little of anything. I feel so incredibly fortunate that God gave us this life and the ability to go be with his people. I am nervous about a lot, leaving my friends and family, raising the money, the feeling after getting back from a big trip, and the feeling also when first getting to Africa. But I know that all of it is worth it and I don't need to worry about it.

That's a little of the painted picture of me, I'm excited to meet everyone!
