Well most of you are much older than I and have so many accomplishments to be proud of so for me I am more than grateful to hear more and learn from all of you. I am very excited to be stepping out in faith on my very first mission trip to Africa and cant wait to start some accomplishments of my own, its not much but here is a little bit about me and who I am in Christ.

My name is Chanel, I turn 19 tomorrow, I live in beautiful southern California, and I live in a small town 45 minutes from the ocean and mountains. I was blessed with two wonderful parents who happen to also be my pastors and four awesome older sisters who have helped mold me into the woman I am today. My life can be described as "on-the-go", with church being my second home, school, work, and maintaining a social life, busy has become a word that defines me. My dad has always taught me to do everything life offers and to do so with passion. So I guess you can say I took that extremely literal in everything I did and do. He always says, “if your going to be a bank robber at least be the best bank robber the world has ever seen”, kidding of course, but you can see what he means by being the best in all that you do. So starting at a very young age I played every sport, learn practically every instrument, and have taken my passions to its max. I currently play guitar and sing for my church worship band, attend a local college, and on my free time I spend hours upon hours finishing up a book I began writing a little over two years ago. I am extremely passionate about writing and can’t seem to get enough of it. It drives me insane not having a pen handy when I spark an idea or two, so fair warning if you guys catch me writing in the middle of the night, I apologize ahead of time. Another thing that I am passionate about is singing, started when I was six so I guess you can say it’s pretty natural to me to just go up and sing in front of a crowd. My guitar is my baby, I guard it with my life. I started nearly a year ago and I am so in love, now I can’t say I am as confident in it as singing but I love it just as much, maybe even more. One thing you guys will notice about me is I have a hunger for worship, I literally crave it every second of every day. To me worship is just another way to say hello to God throughout my day and show him my love for him. There is nothing a little worship can’t solve, having a bad day? Worship makes it 10 times better. Stressed about school? Worship calms the nerves. Really though, I hope you guys can hang cause I can go on for hours. A few of my favorite artists/bands are Phil Wickham, Kim Walker, United Pursuit Band (Will Reagan), and Hillsong. as much as music uplifts me nothing beats how much my two bestfriends do. They have helped me through the worst of times and are there to share the best of times. Now I say this with the utmost gratitude; Aleissa and Amber are god sent. They have been there for me since pre-k so you can imagine how close we are with 14 years of friendship under our belts. Their passion for God has made my walk with him so much stronger, and they continue to keep me lifted spiritually every day. They bring out the best in me in so many ways and for that I love them so much.

So not much of a nutshell, but that’s me, I am so looking forward to hear more about you all when we finally meet. Love you guys! Oh and side note, I hate sweets, just an FYI for all you sugar feens.
